The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, stated today during talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that Belarus will promote the interests of Baku in the Eurasian Economic Union.
"Azerbaijan has been and remains a reliable friend and partner of Belarus. We appreciate our friendship and are willing to sincerely and openly contribute to the promotion of your interests in the EAEU," he stressed, adding that the two countries should focus on finding new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
"In the current difficult situation, our states did not allow a significant reduction of mutual trade. However, the times demand fast and efficient solutions from us to build economic cooperation, including in the markets of third countries," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
