French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on winning in the presidential election.
Macron stressed that Paris will do its utmost to contribute to the efforts to find a negotiated solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
He also wished Ilham Aliyev success in his activity for the well-being of the people of Azerbaijan and emphasized that he intends to develop the bilateral relations.
"As I mentioned in my letter to you on February 21 this year, it is important to exchange views about these issues and I would like to meet with you in Paris in the coming months. I once again convey my best wishes to you and to the people of Azerbaijan. Please accept the assurances of my highest respect," the French president said in a statement.
