President of France Emmanuel Macron made a phone call to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on March 8.
The French leader affirmed his country's solidarity and support with Azerbaijan in connection with Iran’s airstrike on Azerbaijan.
"As part of the consultations I have conducted with regional leaders, I spoke with President Ilham Aliyev and expressed our support and solidarity in connection with the Iranian strikes on his country," Macron said.
He also expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the conditions created for the evacuation of French citizens from Iran via Azerbaijan.
"Taking this opportunity, I once again emphasized our support for the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and our desire to continue our bilateral dialogue with Baku on an even stronger foundation," Macron said.
