The head of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, has resigned from the post of the head of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the Al-Arabiya television channel informs.
According to the channel, a few senior members of the PLO have left their posts along with Abbas. The reason for the resignation has not been declared, RIA Novosti reports.
The office of the head of the PLO executive committee was taken by the well-known Palestinian political figure and Palestinian representative on negotiations with Israel, Saeb Erekat.
