 Mahmoud Vaezi: Iranian-Azerbaijani cooperation at high point

Relations between Iran and Azerbaijan have been at the highest level in the last quarter of a century, the Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mahmoud Vaezi, said at the 11th meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental commission on economic, trade and humanitarian issues.

"It is not surprising that the meeting in Baku is being attended by more than 130 entrepreneurs from Iran. The governors of East Azerbaijan and Ardabil also arrived at the meeting," the Iranian minister said, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports from Baku.

"We attach great importance to this meeting and would like to make small proposals into the last year's documents. We intend to strengthen relations in the banking sector, which will allow us to increase the turnover in the agrarian sphere. We have great opportunities, this also applies to the joint use of territories, and the opening of joint factories for the production and export of agricultural products," Vaezi stressed.

The minister noted that the two countries have excellent relations in the tourism sector. "We are successfully implementing the Astara (Azerbaijan) -  Astara (Iran) railway project. In addition, a very large Iranian delegation arrived to discuss the Rasht-Astara railway project. We also have very good opportunities to strengthen relations between the two countries in the oil and gas sector," Mahmoud Vaezi said.
