Main buyers of Azerbaijani oil and oil products for 2015 published

A quarter of entire oil export from Azerbaijan in 2015 accounted for Italy, a quarter of the export of petroleum products for Malta, nearly a quarter of exports of petrochemical products for the Netherlands, abc.az reports.

That was announced at conference "Caspian and Central Asia - trading, logistics, refining and petrochemicals" by deputy head of the Department of Export Operations with Oil & Oil Products of the SOCAR Marketing & Economic Operations Department Kamran Mammadzadeh.

Company’s representative specified that presently SOCAR exports oil from Azerbaijan to more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia and America.

"In 2015 total export of Azerbaijani oil totaled 35 million tons. Its major buyers became Italy (25%), Germany (13 %), Indonesia (10%), Israel (9%) and France (8%)," Mammadzadeh said.

Thus, the total volume of Azerbaijani oil export 22.1 million tons accounted for SOCAR.

Mammadzadeh said that in 2015 Azerbaijan exported 1.9 million tons of oil and 241,000 tons of petrochemical products.

"A quarter (25%) of the total exports of SOCAR oil products for 2015 accounted for Malta, 16% for Turkey, 14% for Georgia, 10% for Gibraltar and 9% for Italy," the SOCAR rep said.

The main buyers of petrochemical products were the Netherlands (22%), China (19%), Turkey and Russia (16% and 15% respectively).
