The Turkish authorities said that a major terrorist attack was averted on November 13, the French channel BFM TV reports.
According to their version, extremists were planning an attack in Istanbul on the same day as the Paris attacks.
"According to the first results of our investigation, we have prevented a very serious attack," a representative of the Turkish authorities told French journalists on condition of anonymity.
Other details have not been disclosed, Interfax reports.
