The head of the Dagestan government, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, said that the republic planned to launch direct flights between Makhachkala and Tehran.
He recalled that planes flew from Makhachkala airport to 8 countries. According to him, the issue of air communication with Iran is being studied.
The Prime Minister of the region also noted the importance of the Dagestan airport in the transport system. Abdulmuslimov said that the capacity on flights abroad was 190 people per hour.
According to him, work is currently underway to reconstruct the airport, which includes laying a new runway.
