The Russian delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Sergey Levin, which also includes the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Dagestan, Musafendi Velimuradov, and the head of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic, Yusup Umavov, met with the Iranian Agricultural Jihad Minister, Mahmoud Hojjati.
During the meeting the sides stated that Dagestan will become the main region to distribute products across other Russian regions.
Mohammed Hojjati pointed out that in recent years the relations between Iran and Russia began to develop rapidly in many directions.
"First of all, we are interested in the creation of so-called green corridors for Iranian agricultural products relating to customs and phytosanitary service. They would significantly reduce the delivery times of Iranian products, increase volumes and legalize current deliveries," the deputy minister said.
The Russian side has already defined the ports for transshipment of goods from Iran: these are the ports of Makhachkala and Astrakhan. Sergey Levin said that Dagestan could host a large logistics center to distribute products across other Russian regions. Ramazan Abdulatipov, in his turn, said that he fully supports the proposal.
The sides also discussed mutual cooperation in the fields of sailing and fishery.
