Officials in Istanbul discovered the body of a man while clearing floodwaters following heavy downpours and flash flooding on Saturday, Ahval News reports with a reference to independent news site T24.
The body was discovered in an underpass in the Unkapanı neighbourhood near the Golden Horn in Fatih district, T24 said, where floodwaters reached 190 centimetres in depth.
It remains unclear whether the man drowned during the flood or was unconscious or dead before and municipal crews continue to work in the area, it said.
