Manukyan’s criminal case is sent to Armenian Prosecutor General's Office

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has completed its investigation of the criminal case it had opened against ex-PM Vazgen Manukyan - the PM candidate of the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement - on charges of making calls - during the rallies held at Liberty Square in Yerevan on February 12 and 20 - to seize power, forcibly overthrowing the constitutional order, and using violence.

Also, the Committee said in a statement that it had previously informed that Manukyan had been charged under the Criminal Code article on making public calls for seizure of power, violation of territorial integrity, or forcible overthrow of the constitutional order,  and a signature bond on not leaving the country had been chosen as a precautionary measure against him.

And on Tuesday, the charge against Vazgen Manukyan was supplemented due to his calls made during a rally on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue - across the parliament building - on February 26, which also include violent calls to seize power and overthrow the constitutional order in Armenia.

The criminal case, along with the indictment, has been sent to the Prosecutor General's Office, and with a petition to confirm the indictment and send this case to court, Nes.am reported.
