Margvelashvili accuses Garibashvili of escalating tensions in country

Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili made a special announcement about the situation in the country and accused Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili of escalating the tension.

"Every citizen is obliged to protect the constitution, first of all, the Georgian government is obliged to do it. Unfortunately, the government leader’s speech has caused more tensions instead of relaxing this complicated situation," Georgia Online cited him as saying.

"I call on everybody to refrain from taking rigorous steps and to control their emotions, to take care of public peace. I would like to call on the Judge not to make a decision in a hurry, as it will cause even more tensions. In relation to the present situation, I am beginning consultations with political parties, NGOs and diplomatic corps in order for public stability and constitutional order to be maintained," Margvelashvili stated.
