The United Nations (UN) has decided to suspend cooperation with Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova, who was a Goodwill Ambassador of the organization for nine years.
"The Development Program of the United Nations is grateful to Sharapova for her support of our work, however due to the recent events we decided to suspend our cooperation with Maria Sharapova as a goodwill ambassador and cancel all the planned activities during the period of the investigation," a spokesman for the organization said, Lenta.ru reports with reference to The Guardian.
