The resolution adopted by the European parliament on countering Russian media is an "information crime," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"This is a crime since they distract the world community’s attention from the real threats of terrorism, extremism as well as ethnicism and xenophobia," she told Rossiya-1 TV channel.
She added that some 200 lawmakers abstained from voting apparently because they "were ashamed" to take part in such an initiative, Sputnik reports.
