Maxim Oreshkin to Vestnik Kavkaza: Russians should have opportunity to visit Baku and other beautiful Azerbaijani cities

The Russian government pays special attention to the logistics of bilateral economic and humanitarian cooperation with Azerbaijan, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin told the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the 10th Russia-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum, answering the question about the importance of building a new road bridge across the Samur River.

"Transport and logistics is one of the key issues, because we have both a land border and cooperation on the Caspian. In all these areas, we need to work so that citizens and businesses have minimal costs in terms of both time and money, so that goods and people move between our countries actively," he stressed.

"This is a matter of trade, and, for example, tourism. Good transport links, both railway and automobile, are necessary so that one always has the opportunity to get into a car and visit Baku and other beautiful cities of Azerbaijan," the Russian Minister of Economic Development noted.

"A separate roadmap of Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation is dedicated to logistics. We pay great attention to this and will continue our work," Maxim Oreshkin concluded.

The 10th Russia-Azerbaijan Interregional Forum is held in Moscow on November 22-23. The event is co-organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy. The forum is attended by Azerbaijani First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, the Russian Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matvienko, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Russian governors and heads of executive authority of Azerbaijani cities and regions, as well as businessmen from both countries.
