McGregor begged Nurmagomedov not to kill him during UFC clash

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed that Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor begged the Russian not to kill him during their UFC clash last year.

Nurmagedov said he is not interested in fighting McGregor again. "He tapped. He begged me, 'please don't kill me.' Now he talking about rematch. Tony Ferguson on the line, people with win-streak on the line. But not the guy who don’t win nothing the last three years," Express.co.uk cited the fighter as saying.

Nurmagedov outfought and out-grappled Conor McGregor in Las Vegas at UFC 229 in October, with the Irishman tapping out in the fourth round.

The fight ended in a melee with Nurmagedov exiting the Octagon and leaping into the crowd.

Both fighters were handed lengthy bans though lightweight champion Nurmagedov will be back in action at UFC 242 against Dustin Poirier.
