The European Union may lift sanctions against Russia at the end of the year, but at the end of May the sanctions will be extended for the last time, RIA Novosti reported with reference to its sources in Brussels.
"Probably, the European Union will extend the sanctions for the last time, and at the end of the year they can be partially lifted," the diplomat stated.
Earlier, Foreign Minister of Hungary Peter Szijjarto said that Budapest was opposed to automatic prolongation of the EU sanctions against Russia.
