According to sources in law enforcement circles, the explosion in Istanbul at a footbridge of the metro station Bayrampaşa was the result of a terrorist attack.
A train was arriving at the metro station under the footbridge when the explosion took place. Now movement of trains has been stopped. Passengers are being evacuated to the surface, NTV reports.
"The cause of the explosion is being investigated. All versions are being worked out. One person was injured," RIA Novosti cites Istanbul Governor Shaheen Vasip.
