Citing a high-ranking diplomatic source, the Jerusalem Post newspaper reported on Israel's readiness to organize negotiations between Russia and Ukraine if a breakthrough is possible in the situation.
On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference that he did not rule out that negotiations between Moscow and Kiev could take place in Jerusalem.
"We know from experience that negotiations that have no chance lead to a deterioration of the situation on the ground", the source said.
"We must understand whether we can really be useful. If a breakthrough is possible, we will do everything", he added.
The newspaper's interlocutor noted that the Israeli side "imposes nothing" in regard to Bennett's mediation between Russia and Ukraine.
