The Iranian authorities intend to open the way for sea freights to the ports of both South and North America after the abolition of international sanctions, Iranian mass media report.
"Taking into account the needs of the country during the post-sanctions period, exports and imports will rise sharply and the number of ships should also be increased," Interfax cites the Managing Director of the Ports and Shipping Organization of Iran, Mohammad Saidnezhada.
Other parts of the plan and the terms for its implementation were not disclosed.
