A sharp deterioration of the situation in the Russian economy, as well as its prompt return to the growth rates that have been observed over the last decade, are hardly possible, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated in his article 'The New Reality: Russia and Global Challenges', published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
"Speaking about the situation in which Russia finds itself, its rapid deterioration is hardly possible (although this is what was predicted for us recently), as is quick access to the trajectory of such growth as characterized the last decade. This is not only because of geopolitics and not because of sanctions – they can explain only part of the problems," RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
According to the Russian prime minister, geopolitics and sanctions are only a consequence of a profound transformation of the world order which is taking place now.
