Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that construction of ambulance aviation pads in regions should be expedited.
"The situation should be analyzed. There is a need to consider where construction of such pads can be expedited, associate them with medical institutions and, certainly, review funding sources," Medvedev said, commenting on ambulance aviation operations in Russian regions.
The topic of ambulance aviation is current for regions of Siberia and the Far East, with vast distances between settlements, Medvedev noted. "6,500 sorties were made year-to-date and about 9,000 individuals were delivered to medical institutions," TASS cited him as saying.
The Russian PM noted that this is a good indicator since figures are much higher than in prior periods.
