Medvedev: terrorist attacks in Brussels to affect EU policy and our decisions

The terrorist attacks in Brussels will cause a major impact on European policies and Russia may reconsider a number of its priorities as well, the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

"It is absolutely clear that such terrorist attacks never remain without consequences. They will surely cause an impact on the European Union’s policies and, possibly, on our own decisions. Certainly, we will bear in mind everything that happened in identifying foreign policy priorities and in making decisions in the sphere of economics," the head of the Russian government stressed.

According to him, the Brussels terrorist attacks are a challenge to the whole civilized world.

"Of course, it is a barbarous terrorist act, which has shown how vulnerable Europe has become and that mutual understanding is urgently needed among different states in Europe and generally among all responsible states in order to prevent such terror acts in the future and fight the evil that at present manifests itself in international terrorism," TASS cited him as saying.
