Mehmet Samsar appointed Turkish ambassador to Russia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a decree appointing 25 heads of diplomatic missions abroad, including in Russia. 

Mehmet Samsar was appointed the new Turkish ambassador to Russia; the document was published by Resmi Gazete.

Previously, Samsar served as Turkish ambassador to Ukraine.

Huseyin Dirioz served as the Turkish ambassador to Russia since 2016, but in November he said that he was leaving his post and returning to Ankara within two months, RIA Novosti reports.
