Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva met with a group of soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani Army on April 3, who were wounded during the April battles in 2016.
She stressed that the state will provide the necessary support to the servicemen.
Mehriban Aliyeva expressed her confidence that liberation of Azerbaijani territories from the occupation is the greatest desire of every citizen of Azerbaijan. "We all know very well that this conflict is the biggest problem of Azerbaijan. We believe that the day when justice will be restored will come soon, our lands will be liberated, our refugees and IDPs will return to their native lands," she said.
"The efforts of the Azerbaijani army and Azerbaijani soldiers are invaluable in this matter. Therefore, along with the state, the people of Azerbaijan demonstrated unity in those days. The duty of every Azerbaijani citizen is to assist the army and soldiers. The state has all the opportunities, it provides and will continue to provide this assistance, however, I feel that people are also ready to render this support," the first vice-president drew attention.
Mehriban Aliyeva especially noted the heroism of the Azerbaijani servicemen, shown during the April battles for Karabakh. "The heroism demonstrated by you was a military victory, as a result of which a part of our lands was liberated. Now settlements are being built there, people will return to their homes. However, along with the military, this is also a national victory, because you gave people a new confidence that we will free all our lands from the occupation, because justice must be restored, "she stressed.
After the April battles for Karabakh, Mehriban Aliyeva met with the mothers of the dead soldiers.
"The Azerbaijani state, the people of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani army speak completely with one voice on this issue - truth and justice on our side. I am sure that this conflict will find its solution soon. I repeat, no people want a war. Azerbaijan wants to settle the conflict peacefully. The occupation forces should be withdrawn from the Azerbaijani territories," Mehriban Aliyeva said.
Then the event featured the presentation of a project on the provision of soldiers and officers wounded in the April battles with high-tech prosthetics.
Under an agreement between Azerbaijan`s MEDICOM company and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijani soldiers and officers will be supplied with artificial replacements for their missing body parts produced by the world`s leading manufactures.
