Today is birthday of First Vice President of Azerbaijan, First Lady of the Republic and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva. Several Russian politicians and cultural figures spoke about the role of Mehriban Aliyeva in humanitarian and political cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, her contribution to culture of the post-Soviet space and the entire world in an interview with Vestnik Kavkaza.
First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee, Vladimir Jabarov, congratulated Mehriban Aliyeva on her birthday and invited her to the II International Women's Forum.
"Mehriban Aliyeva is a prominent political figure in Azerbaijan, she is highly respected not only in the republic, but also in Russia and throughout the CIS, and we hope that she will participate in the II International Women's Forum in September in St. Petersburg. We wish her further success," Vladimir Jabarov said.
Head of the Russia-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, the State Duma deputy, Dmitry Savelyev, described Mehriban Aliyeva as an outstanding politician and a wise woman.
"You put all your numerous talents, sharp mind, strong character and great heart to good use, to help your country and its people. I wish you strong health, prosperity and happiness for you and your family!", he said.
Director of the Multimedia Art Museum, Olga Sviblova, stressed that Mehriban Aliyeva plays a huge role in humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan.
"I can't praise her activity in new high position of the First Vice-President enough, but I know she always has strenght that she uses very professionally. She and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation under her leadership do a lot in the field of culture. They build new bridges between our countries, as well as preserve cultural ties that have been developed over many decades," she said.
