Berlin will not 'automatically' take Washington's side in case of a military conflict between the United States and North Korea, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.
The chancellor emphasized she did not see a possibility to resolve the North Korea crisis by means of military actions and would consider them absolutely wrong.
Merkel said more should be done to overcome the deadlock. "We should do more," Reuters cited Merkel as saying.
"We cannot simply insist on a diplomatic solution while we sit and do nothing," she added at an event organized by the Handelsblatt business daily.
