Merkel and Erdogan agree to work together to solve refugee problem

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation on Wednesday, during which they reached an agreement on a more active cooperation in solving the refugee problem, representative of the German government Steffen Seibert said.

"They agreed to intensify cooperation between Germany and Turkey in overcoming the crisis. At the same time, particular importance is attached to the fight against the smuggling of refugees," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The German Chancellor and the President of Turkey agreed that the solution to the refugee problem requires the cooperation of all members of the international community.
