 Merkel appointed First Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan

First Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Johann Merkel was dismissed from the post to be appointed as a member of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kazakh President said.

Earlier, Nikolai Belorukov was released from the post of a member of the Constitutional Council by President Nursultan Nazarbayev in connection with the expiration of his term of office.

Merkel's professional profile includes the posts of the prosecutor of the city of Sarani, the prosecutor of the Turgai region, the first deputy prosecutor of Almaty. He also worked as deputy head of the state-legal department of the President's Office, first deputy minister of justice. He was a member of the Senate during 2005-2008. He held the post of First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan since February 2008.
