Georgia's new Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has received congratulations from the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in connection with his appointment as the head of government.
In her congratulatory telegram, the Chancellor welcomed the positive report of the European Commission on the work done by Georgia on simplification of the visa regime with the EU, and expressed confidence that this event will become "the motivation for the continuation of reforms" for Georgia.
"I am confident in the positive development of relations between our countries in the future. Germany remains a reliable partner of Georgia on the path of the democratic and economic development of the country. I wish you good luck in performing your important tasks. I will be glad to see you soon in Berlin," RIA Novosti cites the text of Merkel's telegram.
