Turkey must stop the flow of illegal migration across its territory, German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated today at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu in Berlin.
"We cannot allow illegal routes for transportation of refugees between Turkey and Greece," she said. Berlin and Ankara insist on conducting a political process on a settlement in Syria, Merkel said. "We are committed to the political process in Syria," TASS quoted her as saying.
Germany and Turkey plan to "make efforts in the fight against terrorism more active," the German Chancellor added.
