German Chancellor Angela Merkel may visit Georgia in the second half of August, Georgia's First Channel reports with reference to its sources.

The Chancellor's office has not confirmed or denied this information, saying that they are usually informed about her visits on the last Friday before the trip.

They first spoke of Merkel's possible visit to Georgia in 2015, Sputnik - Georgia recalled. She was invited by former head of the government Irakli Garibashvili.
