During negotiations with the Prime Minister of Turkey, Ahmet Davutoglu, Angela Merkel noted that Germany is ready to help Ankara join the EU and simplify the visa regime for its citizens.
Merkel also confirmed that Germany is ready to help Turkey financially in this regard.
The Chancellor added that a solution to the migration problem is impossible without a resolution of the Syrian crisis. It is in our "common interest to find a political solution to this conflict," Tass cites her as saying.
