Metal pedestrian bridges to be demolished in Tbilisi

Metal pedestrian bridges will be demolished in Tbilisi, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said, noting that zebra crossings will be arranged instead.

The process of dismantling has already started and in total 20 bridges will be demolished by the end of the current year.

Kaladze noted that the bridges will be demolished at addresses where zebra crossing are already present, Agenda.ge reported.

The first bridge was demolished on Shartava street in Tbilisi’s Saburtalo district, while the next area where the works will be continued is Guramishvili Avenue in Sanzona district.

The Transport Municipal Service of Tbilisi City Hall has already reconstructed five traffic lights on Guramishvili Avenue and will add zebra crossings for pedestrians in coming days.
