Middle Eastern Armenians opposes Pashinyan's decision

Iraqi Armenians, Syrian Armenians and other Armenian repatriates who have settled in Armenia are staging a protest outside the Ministry of Diaspora in central Yerevan.

They have written a letter against the decision to dissolve the ministry, and which they intend to deliver to the republic's acting prime minister Nikol Pasinyan.

In the letter, Iraqi Armenians raise concern over the decision to dissolve the Ministry of Diaspora and express hope that the Armenian government will make a wise decision in this regard, News.am reported.

As a result of reorganization of the government structure, the number of ministries in Armenia is expected to be reduced from 17 to 12. According to these changes, the Ministry of Diaspora shall be dissolved.
