Art of the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, famous Azerbaijani poetess and artist Leyla Aliyeva is astonishing, famous TV presenter Mikhail Shirvindt told Vestnik Kavkaza, commenting on the 'Eternity' video art presented by Leyla Aliyeva at the Tretyakov Gallery as part of the 8th Moscow International Biennale of Contemporary Art yesterday.
"I'm totally enchanted! I have long-standing friendly relations with Leyla Aliyeva, I have repeatedly visited her exhibitions in Baku, Moscow and other cities. What I saw here astonished me," Mikhail Shirvindt admitted.
The TV presenter emphasized that he is not an unconditional fan of all contemporary art, while Leyla Aliyeva's works invariably arouse his admiration. "What Leila did in her part of the pavilion, this 'Eternity' art object is a wonderful work," he noted.
"In general, Leyla Aliyeva is a great artist, everything she does is created with great diligence and sparks real interest - she puts so much effort and soul into her works. Such an attitude to art is highly respected," Mikhail Shirvindt concluded.
Speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, Leyla Aliyeva said that 'Eternity' tells the story of human courage. "We love our usual and are afraid to lose it, but we don’t know that sometimes we shouldn't be afraid to destroy it to things to be even better. Like out ego: when you destroy it without fear, you end up in infinity," she explained.
