Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met representatives of business societies, according to MFA of Georgia, The Financial reports.
Mikheil Janelidze presented to the business societies representatives the 2016-2017 Action Plan to develop economic diplomacy in Georgia and informed them on the measures Georgian Foreign Ministry has been carrying out in this direction.
In the speech delivered at the presentation, the Minister once again underlined that the economic diplomacy is one of the main priorities of the Georgian Foreign Ministry the aim of which is to attract more foreign investments to Georgia, to internationalise small and medium business and to export Georgian production to new markets.
Mikheil Janelidze also underlined that the Foreign Ministry carried out relevant reforms in compliance with the chosen priorities to enhance the work of the Georgian embassies abroad in this direction.
In the frames of the presentation, the Minister also spoke about a joint initiative of the Georgian Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development to assign commercial attachés to the diplomatic missions of Georgia abroad.
The Minister underlined the need to establish a format in the frames of which regular meetings with business societies representatives will be held to share opinions and to outline plans for the future.
