Former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili has challenged lawyers in the cases being reviewed by the Georgian courts, InterPressNews reported.
The motive for the decision was the judgment of the Strasbourg Court in relation to Vano Merabishvili.
The defense was to deliver final speech in the Sandro Girgvliani case today, but the lawyers announced that Saakashvili does not trust the Georgian judiciary.
In addition, as lawyer Davit Kakoishvili noted, on the background of the developments in Ukraine, it is clear that Georgian and Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are cooperating in order to extradite Mikheil Saakashvili to Georgia.
The lawyer added that political persecution is underway both in Georgia and Ukraine against Mikheil Saakashvili and the court systems are also involved in it.
