Police in Russia's North Caucasus region of Kabardino-Balkaria say they killed three militants in an overnight gunbattle.
Russia's Interior Ministry and National Counterterrorism Committee say the three armed men included a suspect wanted for alleged involvement in a 2005 terrorist attack against police in Kabardino-Balkaria's Nalchik.
Russian authorities say the three men were killed late on October 13 after they opened fire on police who were trying to stop the car they were traveling in, RFE/RL reports.
