Construction of the first two lines of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline can be completed ahead of schedule, the chief executive of Russian gas giant Gazprom, Alexei Miller, said.
"The intergovernmental agreement would also define the deadline by which the two maritime threads are to be built. It’s December 2019. But Gazprom has enough experience, I think that we may be able to even accelerate this schedule," he explained.
Miller reminded that Gazprom will construct and own the seabed section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline and Turkey will own its mainland section.
"The agreement envisages that the land section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline will be owned by a Turkish company, while its seabed section will be owned by a Russian company," TASS cited the ministry as saying.
