The review of the appeal of Azerbaijan's first lady, president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Mehriban Aliyeva over the adoption of an amnesty act on the occasion of the Republic Day on May 28th was on the agenda of the plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament.
After discussions the amnesty act was put to the vote and adopted.
The amnesty act is expected to apply to 10,000 prisoners and 3,500 of them will be released from detention, Trend reports.
