Mirziyoyev: Azerbaijan increases Non-Aligned Movement reputation

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Baku. The parties discussed bilateral cooperation.

The Azerbaijani leader thanked his Uzbek counterpart for paying a visit to Baku and noted the development of Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations. According to him, there is very active interaction in all directions between Baku and Tashkent.

Ilham Aliyev also expressed gratitude for the participation of Uzbekistan in the reconstruction of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, stressing that people of Azerbaijan highly appreciate the Uzbek project to build a school for to the formerly displaced people.

The Uzbek president, in turn, stressed a great leap in bilateral relations. "Our teams work in a different manner. There are tangible results, and every meeting of ours probably gives an impetus to our relations and agreements," Mirziyoyev said.

The head of state noted that Uzbekistan is currently preparing a large project with the Azerbaijani state company SOCAR.

The Uzbek leader recalled the role of Azerbaijan in the participation of the Non-Aligned Movement, emphasizing that the reputation of this organization has increased with the successful chairmanship of Azerbaijan.
