President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation today with the newly elected President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, the Uzbek President's press service said.
Mirziyoyev congratulated Tokayev on landslide victory in the election of Kazakhstan and underlined that the new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation was given by the fist state visit of President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan this April, when several cooperation documents were signed.
During the talks, the presidents also discussed Uzbek-Kazakh relations and considered the schedule of upcoming high-level events, AKIpress reported.
