The West is ratcheting up its sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus even though it is feeling the blowback from such policies, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Friday, addressing an expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
"The situation is changing rapidly, and the West has been ratcheting up its sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus despite the adverse impacts of such policy for those who initiated it," the Russian premier said.
According to Mishustin, while the international economic and trade system is getting derailed with traditional links and habitual patterns being broken, the Eurasian Economic Union has proven effective.
