Mogherini: Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved in a peaceful way

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini has stated today at a joint briefing with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved peacefully in accordance with the international law.

She stressed that the EU supports the OSCE Minsk Group efforts to implement the three Madrid principles and the high-level talks to ensure peaceful settlement of the conflict. The head of European diplomacy drew attention to the fact that it is necessary to reduce the intensity of tension in the conflict zone and urged to refrain from militant rhetoric and growth of violence that worsen the peace process.
