Mogherini: a truce in Syria will allow the Geneva talks to resume

The head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini said that the observance of the truce in Syria will create conditions for the resumption of negotiations in Geneva.

"This will allow the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Syria, Staffan de Mistura, to resume the inter-Syrian talks in Geneva, and to create conditions for a political transition, agreed unanimously by the UN Security Council," the statement issued today reads.
