About 20 billion tenge ($53,000) are required for restoration of the Kazakh city of Arys, Chairman of the Emergency Situations Committee of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bekker said at a press conference.
He said that, according to preliminary report, 7,600 houses were destroyed after warehouse blast.
"By evening of July 1, the figure reached more than 8,000. We have discussed this issue, the material damage is estimated at about 20 billion tenge. I think the final calculations will be ready by July 15 as working groups are still establishing the figures," AKIpress cited Bekker as saying.
The chairman of the Emergency Situations Committee added that experts are in the city to inspect the damaged sites.
