On the first trading day in the new year, the Moscow Exchange Index updated the historical maximum gaining 3086.09 points.
On Friday, the index grew by 1%, up to 3076.37 points, the RTS index showed an increase of 0.99%, up to 1564.18 points.
The US dollar to the Russian ruble exchange rate fell by 0.13%, to 61.9 rubles.
