Russia and Iran have agreed to cooperate on the construction of small modular reactors. The reactors are planned to be built in the Islamic Republic.
Representatives of Russia and Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the construction of small modular reactors, a statement published on the Rosatom website on September 24 reads.
The document was signed by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev and President of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Mohammad Eslami, who also serves as the country's vice president. Their meeting took place today in Moscow.
