Russia views proposals by Ukraine and Romania to form a NATO permanent naval task force in the Black Sea as a provocative act, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday, Sputnik reports.
At a joint press conference with Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic in Belgrade, Lavrov said: "We are convinced that all decisions regarding the Black Sea must be taken by coastal states alone, especially when it comes to security issues."
"That's why we consider the idea expressed by Ukraine and our Romanian Black Sea neighbors about the creation of a NATO permanent naval task force [in the Black Sea] as provocative," Lavrov stressed.
